DescriptionDeborah Lee Artists Statement The transparent and beautiful medium of watercolor has provided me the opportunity to enjoy both the challenge and satisfaction of painting a variety of subjects. My inspiration emanates from nature that I enjoy everyday, the beautiful places where I have lived and visited from the East Coast and the Southwest. I love the emotional look in a birds eye, the way the landscape changes color depending on the sun and the clouds, and the beauty that can be found when you least expect it both new and old. My hope is that my paintings will make you smile, fit in just the right place in your home to brighten each day, you will enjoy them as much as I do, and that they will always remind us to be thankful and cherish the beauty that surrounds us. Biography Deborah grew up in a small town south of Buffalo, NY, where she began her banking career. When her husband was re-located they moved to Pa., then to Tampa, Fl. where they retired. This is when they moved to the Outer Banks of N.C. to pursue the life of coastal living. This is also where Deborah decided it was time to start a hobby and with all the beautiful scenery and wildlife why not start painting. Basically a self taught artist she has attended watercolor classes in Naples, Fl., and Kitty Hawk, NC., where she became proficient using many techniques and procedures that have developed into her own style of watercolor painting. With a passion for birds, beaches and boats it was easy to find a variety of subjects to paint on the East Coast. After seven years of coastal living, it was time for a change and they moved west to Arizona. Living in the southwest now has given her the opportunity to expand her portfolio to include, southwest mountains and landscape, historic places and items, and birds of the southwest. Every painting has a story to tell and a special meaning, she hopes everyone who purchases her art feels a connection with them also. Venue
