One such book is the Superstition Wilderness Trails East, Hikes, Horse Rides, and History by Jack Carlson and Elizabeth Stewart. At the recent Arizona Book Publishers Association Awards Jack Carlson and Elizabeth Stewart were honored with two awards. Out of the three categories they entered, History, Recreation, and Regional, they won two prestigious awards, one for the Best Regional Book, and the other for the Best Recreational Book. Superstition Wilderness Trails East describes the trails in the eastern half of the Superstition Wilderness. The companion book called A Hiker’s Guide to the Superstition Wilderness covers the west half of the Superstition Wilderness. If you enjoy hiking, horseback riding, and history, this book is a must for your back pack. The book will give you detailed information about the trails including potential hazards for horses and well documented history, legends, and lore of the Superstition Wilderness areas. November 7, 2010, Jane Eppinga will be our featured author. Jane Eppinga - Writing credentials include over 200 articles for both popular and professional publications, cover a broad spectrum of children's fiction, travel, personal profiles, biology, construction, food, and public relation pieces. Her books include a biography of Henry Ossian Flipper, West Point's First Black Graduate, Arizona Twilight Tales, and books in Arcadia Publishing's Images of America series focusing on Arizona towns including Tucson, Nogales, Apache Junction and Tombstone. She writes regularly for Biology Digest a quarterly publication for high school science teachers. In 2009, Globe Pequot published my book, They Made Their Mark: An Illustrated History of the Society of Woman Geographers. That same year she made a presentation on the Society of Woman Geographers at the 10th International Congress of Women in Madrid, Spain. Jane is currently under contract with the University of Arizona Press to produce a book documenting all of Arizona's museums. Her first novel is in press with Floricanto Press and a book, Historic Walks: Tombstone and Bisbee Arizona is in press with DestinWorld in London.
