Old Fashioned Christmas in the Barn Holiday Boutique

Just in time for the Christmas season, the Chapel, Barn, Patio, and grounds have been transformed by our volunteers into “An Old-Fashioned Christmas in the Barn’.

A walk into the Barn will whisk visitors to a time and place when life and Christmas celebrations were simple and heartfelt, when nature furnished many of the traditional green and red decorations displayed at Christmas, when families constructed hand-made decorations for their Christmas trees, when the usual mode of winter transportation – the sleigh – was decorated gaily for “dashing through the snow” to visit friends. Come out view the awesome decorations.

Over thirty local artists and crafters will be displaying and selling their creations on the patio, in the Barn and on the grounds. This year they will be offering a wide assortment of unique Christmas gifts including Native American Art, rocks and gemstones, handmade soaps, handcrafted jewelry, wood art, paintings, photographs, beadwork, knitted items, rock art, wind chimes, and wine wraps.

Arts & Crafts - Christmas in the Barn Event - Nov 28, 2016

While you enjoy one of Pat the Hot Dog Lady’s famous hotdogs, you will be entertained by talented local musicians.

Santa Claus will be walking the grounds to greet your kids and get their Christmas gift wishes. The kids will also be able to try their hand at panning for gold in front of the barn, and grinding corn the way the early Native Americans did. Ventriloquist Chuckwagon Wanda will be on hand at the Old West Town with her fuzzy friend, the wisecracking Digger the Donkey.

Teton Ken and his mules will be on hand to perform magic tricks and tell stories of the Lost Dutchman.

The large train set, the Superstition Mountain Museum Railroad, will be running for your enjoyment.

For those of you who have not yet watched our Stamp Mill crush rock, a special demonstration will be held at 11:00.

The museum gift shop also offers a large array of interesting and unique gifts from Native American pottery and jewelry to wood carvings. For the book lovers in the family, we carry one of the Southeast Valley’s largest selection of books devoted to the legends and lore of the Superstition Mountains and the famous Lost Dutchman.

Buy a raffle ticket! As a Self-supporting organization that receives no federal, state, or local funding, we rely on revenues generated by our gift shops, events, and fundraisers. As one of our fundraisers, we will be raffling off special gifts that have been donated by our artists and crafters. Raffle tickets are priced at 1 for $1, or 6 for $5. Winning tickets are drawn from tickets sold that day. Winner must be present to win.

Don’t forget to buy some tickets for this season’s special fundraising raffle of a 1/4oz gold nugget. Tickets are on sale for $1.00 each, or six for $5.00. The drawing will be held on March 29th, at the conclusion of Dan Ware’s lecture. You need not be present to win.
