Today’s movie, the fourth in our First Annual Movies at the Museum series featuring Olde-Tyme Classic Western movies is the 1939 Ken Maynard classic “Death Rides the Range“, in which Maynard plays Ken Baxter, who with two pals, Pancho and Panhandle, tries to solve a murder invovling a secret helium mine located in an ancient Indian cave.
The movie is preceded by the 5th and 6th installments of the Rin Tin Tin serial “The Lone Defender“, in which our canine hero is caught in the middle of a fight between the bad guys and the good guys over a secret gold mine that was owned by the dog’s late owner.
Movies at the the Museum are free to the public, with donations gratefully accepted, and will be shown in the air-conditioned Elvis Chapel. Refreshments will be available in Charlie’s General Store located in the Apacheland Barn. Visitors are encouraged to come early as seating in the Chapel is limited.
