Local Authors and Artists invade the museum grounds
Local authors and artists whose work features the Superstition Mountains, the Apache Junction area, or the Central Arizona Desert, or the Southwest and its culture, nature and history will be set up on the patio and grounds to display, talk about, and sell their books and artworks. This event is free to the public.
Included among the artists who will be on the patio selling and signing their books are Dan Baldwin, Tom Alberti, Don Ensenbach, Dennis Ellingson, Gabriel Humprheys, Craig Main, Eva Morgan, Karen Perry, Ted Tenny, Jim West, and Ermal Willaimson.
In addition to the authors, a number of local artists and crafters will be on the grounds selling their unique creations, which will include, jewelry, paintings, wind chimes, and lariat baskets.
Refreshments will be available in the General Store. Local cowboy singer Ron Houser will be strolling the grounds between 11:00 and 1:00 playing an eclectic mix of country classics. The Superstition Mountain Regulators, a local reenactment group, will be performing at 12, 1, 2, and 3 in front of the “Old West Town”.
There will be a Stamp Mill Demo at 11:00.
Buy a raffle ticket! As a Self-supporting organization that receives no federal, state, or local funding, we rely on revenues generated by our gift shops, events, and fundraisers. As one of our fundraisers, at each of our art events we raffle off art and craft items donated by our artists. Raffle tickets are priced at 1 for $1, or 6 for $5. Winning tickets are drawn from tickets sold that day. Winner must be present to win.
Don’t forget to buy some tickets for this season’s special fundraising raffle of a 1/4oz gold nugget. Tickets are on sale for $1.00 each, or six for $5.00. The drawing will be held on March 29th, at the conclusion of Dan Ware’s lecture. You need not be present to win.
